About 500 people in the Rubavu district affected by the disaster received financial support from the Red Cross of Rwanda. This money is going to help some to repair their buildings damaged by the disaster and others to buy food.
Some of those who received this financial support thanked the Red Cross of Rwanda for their help, and they also believe that this support is going to help them.
Emmanuel Bizimana is one of the residents who received support from the Red Cross, he says that the money they gave him goes to his helper and he thanks the Red Cross of Rwanda for helping him in improving his life.
He said: “The main thing we are going to use is to buy pots, food and clothes, I really thank God because you see that the Red Cross wants to help people in poverty, my life is getting better.”
Suzana Banseberejiki is also one of the recipients of financial support from Coix Rouge, said: “This money should solve my problems, it’s like enough money to build a house, now I’m out wandering, I’m going to use it to grow a farm and buy seeds, I’ve received the Red Cross and I’m happy. May Bikira Maliya continue to help them, Jesus lead them forward, because I was running out of resources, everything was gone.”
Mukasine Alexia, thanks the Red Cross of Rwanda for being close to them and providing them with support, and confirmed that they will use this financial support to repair their damaged houses.
She said: “We are going to repair the damage, because there is a house that has had a problem and it is necessary to repair and install tiles, the kitchens are gone, that’s why the Red Cross helped us, I thank the Red Cross because it cares about us, it goes to the people who are suffering and that’s why I I’m standing here and thanking him, he helped us since the disaster was coming, he didn’t leave us far, he helped us.”
The executive secretary of Nyundo Sector, Nyiransabiyumva Monique, thanked the Red Cross of Rwanda for the help they have given to the people she leads, she assures that this support is going to make a big difference in the lives of those she leads.
She said: “The money given to them by the Red Cross of Rwanda is going to help them a lot, … the changes are obvious, because if they had a house that might have been flooded or even the floor tiles had come in contact with water, the smell might have gone to the floor every hour. but if he is given 200 thousand rupees to help him repair his house, that is, he is going to install a strong chair, he will give it a strong foundation, that is, he is going to live peacefully because he knows that his house is strong, then the recipient of 60 thousand is going to buy , nahaha can really live safely and find another life elsewhere, because that day he got tired and had the strength to go and fight.”

The Deputy Secretary of the Red Cross of Rwanda, in charge of Communication and humanitarian diplomacy, Emmanuel Mazimpaka, said that in general, the Red Cross of Rwanda continues to support those affected by disasters and that in all areas affected by disasters, it will reach and support the people. He says that not only the money but also the time that Ibiza had been providing various assistance including cleaning materials and clean water.
He said: “We are in this district of Rubavu at this time where we have gathered the people of Nyundo, Kanama, Rugerero and Nyakiriba sectors, they are the people who have faced the consequences of the disaster that happened in Kwezi kwa Gatanu this year, the Red Cross of In Rwanda, we have come to provide support to help the people who have been affected by the disaster, which includes buying equipment to repair their damaged houses. It is 60 countries for each family for 400 families, and we have allocated them to the families who have faced the problem of their farms being damaged due to their age. “Other activities that would be productive in the days to come, they have no problem.”
100 families received a grant of 200 thousand for each family and another 400 received 60 thousand for each family, all this support provided by the Red Cross of Rwanda is worth 44 million of Rwanda.
In addition to the fact that the Red Cross of Rwanda gave support to these people, when the disaster happened in the month of May, it immediately provided various materials to help these people, including blankets and other cleaning materials.
Emmanuel Mazimpaka, the in charge of Communication and humanitarian diplomacy, says that the disaster relief operation will continue in other areas, so that all seven districts in the Northern Province and those in the Western Province have been affected by the disaster. All the disasters will be reached, where in all these areas the Red Cross of Rwanda will give about 170 million.
