Students at ESS Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Intensify Preparation for National Examinations with Confidence in Success

As the national examinations draw closer, students and staff at Ecole Secondaire Scientifique Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum say preparations are progressing well, accompanied by strong confidence in achieving excellent results.
Students in Senior Three and Senior Six explained that they have already completed the entire curriculum and are now focusing on revision sessions aimed at strengthening their understanding and improving readiness for the upcoming exams.

Niyonsaba Idrissa, a Senior Six student in the MCB combination, said their preparation is built on close collaboration between students, teachers, and the school administration.
“We are well prepared for the national examinations.

Everyone is committed because the school administration has greatly supported us. We completed all the lessons for every subject that will be examined, and now we are concentrating on revision.

Teachers are still actively helping us review our lessons, which gives us confidence that we are ready,” he said.
Sheja Sadika, a Senior Three student, also noted that the programs introduced by the school have played an important role in strengthening their preparation.
“As candidates preparing for national exams, the school has supported us in many ways, including Saturday classes and morning revision sessions.

We have completed all the lessons, and what remains now is revision. We feel fully prepared, and the school continues to provide everything we need,” she explained.

Uwihaye, another Senior Six student, said weekend study programs have helped students sharpen their preparation.
“Our preparation is at an advanced stage because we already finished studying all the lessons. What we are doing now is revision to ensure we perform well in the national examinations. The school introduced Saturday study sessions, which have been very helpful,” he said.
For younger candidates, Mudenge Manzi Bertrand, a Senior Three student, emphasized that success requires dedication and hard work.
“I feel very prepared for the examinations, thanks to the support from our teachers.

I study hard because without effort you cannot succeed. The school gives us time to come and study on Saturdays, teachers continue helping us, and we also support one another during regular school days so that we can perform well in the national exams,” he said.

The school administration stated that these preparations align with the country’s education policy, which emphasizes supporting students in every possible way. Several initiatives have been introduced, including Saturday study programs, meals for students attending those sessions, and continued academic support through revision classes.

Mubarakha Asman, the school headmaster,

Mubarakha Asman, the school headmaster, said these measures are intended to encourage students to stay focused on their studies and strengthen academic performance.
“We encourage students to come even during weekends and provide them with meals so they can concentrate fully on studying. Teachers are also available to support them as needed,” he said.
He also called upon parents to continue playing an active role by monitoring their children’s academic progress and giving them enough time at home for revision.

Ecole Secondaire Scientifique Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum is located in Kigarama Sector, Kicukiro District, in the City of Kigali. The school currently has more than 300 students, many of whom study free of tuition fees and receive all necessary scholastic materials at no cost, thanks to support from the Al-Maktoum Foundation.

Admission opportunities are mainly determined by academic performance, with priority often given to students who scored at least 70 percent. However, other high-performing students are also encouraged to apply, as places remain available.

The school is recognized for its quality education and experienced teachers, with steadily improving national examination performance over the years. This progress continues to build optimism that students will once again achieve strong results in this year’s national examinations due to the ongoing preparation efforts and cooperation among students, teachers, parents, and school leadership.
