Nyarugenge: Mai Childhood Academy intensifies preparations for 2025–2026 National Examinations

Students, teachers, and administrators of Mai Childhood Academy Primary School, located in Nyarugenge District, Kigali City, are actively engaged in preparations for the 2025–2026 national examinations, with the goal of achieving outstanding results.

Gwiza Emma, a Primary Six student at the school, says she is well prepared for the examinations.

“Every student must prepare seriously by studying hard and knowing when to rest and when to study. The third term is not a time for playing around. Even when I am at home, I avoid distractions and revise my lessons with the support of my parents and teachers. The rest depends on our effort during the exams.”Said

Gwiza added that her objective is to obtain excellent marks that will enable her to join one of the secondary schools she selected.

Another student, Junior Albert, also expressed confidence in his preparation.“I am well prepared because I regularly revise my lessons, listen to the advice of my teachers and parents, and learn from the experiences of students who succeeded before me. I am working hard to achieve success.”Said

Junior encouraged his fellow students to remain focused and dedicated, noting that Primary Six is a crucial academic year.“This is the year we complete our primary education. We must work hard so that we can be admitted to the good schools we applied for.”Said

Uwimana Fildaus echoed similar sentiments.

“I follow the strategies given by our teachers and regularly revise my lessons. I also compare what we are currently learning with examination materials from previous years.”Said

The Head Teacher of Mai Childhood Academy, Kuta Knight, said the school is fully prepared for the national examinations.

“Teachers have completed the syllabus and are now concentrating on revision. They are using archived examination materials from different schools to help students familiarize themselves with exam formats. We are giving students extensive exercises and have increased study hours.”Said

In an interview with Umwezi newspaper, teachers emphasized that they are continuing to invest significant effort and commitment to ensure their students achieve excellent results.

Kuta also highlighted the importance of cooperation between schools and parents.“If there are lessons a child does not fully understand, parents should take time to sit with them and help them revise. Both the school and parents have a responsibility to prepare students adequately.” Said

Mai Childhood Academy is a mixed-gender primary school with 317 students. Of these, 72 students are expected to sit for the national primary leaving examinations this year.
